Owners

In 1998, the Rodgers family purchased the property which they have now transformed into Landings of Willow Creek Golf Course. The course was their millennium dream and their dream became a reality in the summer of 2000.

Jamie Rodgers is the creative mind behind the whole project; inspired by his passion for the business, he designed and built the course. For the Rodgers family, their exhausting hours are very fulfilling. The reality of Jamie's vision is coming to life with the help of his supportive family and dedicated staff.

Cheryl Rodgers is General Manager Golf Course. Not only does she oversee the office procedures and scheduling, she also coordinates the golf tournaments and helps to ensure the success of every event.

Tyler Rodgers, son of Jamie and Cheryl, has played a huge role in the building of Landings. He is a graduate of Golf Course Technology from Toronto's Seneca College and is the superintendent of the golf course.

Landings of Willow Creek Golf Course boasts several amenities to complement the golf course. There is a Driving Range,Golfers’ Lounge, and a Snack Bar.

Landings is Eco Friendly

Golf has a unique role to play in caring for our environment.  By their very nature, golf courses provide significant natural areas that benefit people and wildlife in increasingly urbanized communities across North America.  At the same time, golf courses' misuse of chemicals, water, and other resources to maintain pristine golfing conditions is often criticized for threatening the quality of our environment.

Two of the most mutually exclusive words in the modern world may be "golf" and "environment." The $50 billion sport has perhaps the blackest environmental reputation of any pastime around, and it can be a hard game to play with a conscience. Landings of Willow Creek Golf Course is easing it's customers conscience as we are always working towards lowering our environmental footprint by not using harsh chemicals and pesticides.

From an environmental perspective, golf courses have three basic problems:

  • they require a lot of land that in most cases had been undeveloped.
  • they use tremendous amounts of water.
  • they rely on the use of pesticides and other chemicals to maintain playing surfaces.

Landings of Willow Creek is doing it's part by taking steps to reduce environmental impacts and by choosing products that are environmentally friendly.

  • We use grey water not drinking water to keep the course green.
  • We developed strategies that reduce water needs, including targeted watering, monitoring systems that prevent overwatering, raising mowing heights, and using hardier varieties of grass.
  • All storm run-off systems that send rainwater through wetlands or turf grass for natural filtration.
  • We have integrated pest management techniques, and organic methods.
  • Landings educates golfers about course maintenance that reduces expectations about how golf courses should look. We teach players that the damage to environmental and human health caused by the pesticides needed to create perfect courses isn’t worth the trade off.
  • Preservation of local habitats. This includes the use of native plants, wildlife-friendly policies, the establishment of wildlife sanctuaries on the property, protection of streams and other water resources, and set-asides of sensitive areas.
